Following up on my post yesterday about Digg being a huge, biased, festering, stinking AssTunnel from hell and how only the stupidest stories or articles get dugg up to the top. Here’s yet another shining example of what makes Digg such a special place that I want to puke. I actually found the link to this site below on Reddit (which is a far superior alternative to Digg in my opinion)..

Yeah, we realize that we’re pushing this story pretty hard, but it’s a pretty important one. Bob Lefsetz saw Ryan.’s video, and wrote up a comparison between Kanye’s style of self-promotion and Trent’s form of self-preservation through touring. Or something. Anyway, it’d be really cool if you could help get this story to the front page of Digg, because every time I get a story on Digg’s front page with my handle, Cunnybungler, it makes everyone just a little bit happier. Support Trent Reznor, vote Cunnybungler! |
Ok, so we’ve got some guy openly asking people to Digg an article to the top. Well, many of my fellow DigitalPoint members who were banned from Digg for networking and Digging each others’ articles will find this appaling. Check out how many Digg’s this particular article has received.

And here’s just a short blurb from the story that has received over 950 Diggs thus far…

Who looks cooler? Kanye West who essentially begged people to buy his album, constantly boasting about his talent and prowess in every medium known to man and then throwing a hissy-fit when he believed he wasn’t treated properly by music god MTV, or Trent Reznor who railed that his record company was run by greedy bastards overcharging the public and that his audience should just steal his music in a performance so far away that I’m sure Ms. South Carolina can’t find the location on a map.
If that didn’t make you puke already, you can see the full post here : AssTunnel Number Two |
My response to the whole Kayne vs. Trent thing is, first off, the kids today are total morons and need to get off their computers, get outside and get a freaking life, go ride a skateboard, go surf, go do something, anything but sit on their lardy arses pretending to be an expert on something they obviously know nothing about. Second, Come on, how can you even compare the Kayne to Trent Rezner? Jeeeezuz… Trent is a freaking industrial music God !!! The guy is a true pioneer in the industrial music field and he was around back in the day with the early leaders like KMFDM, Revco and Skinny Puppy were blowing up small clubs, touring incessantly beore the Lollapaloozer and Geritol driven OzzFest or the lame-o Warped tour. No contest. Kayne sucks anyway, so why the hell even write up an article like this and get people to Digg it to the top of Digg, to me this is nothing but useless spam and once again a new AssTunnel has been Dugg by the dingleberry Digg butt pirates.
Seriously, this blog is about Affiliate Publishing, blogging and Search Engine Optimization, but what chance in hell does somebody such as myself who actually takes my time to present something worthwhile to my readers have when there are sites like Digg that ignore blatant, obvious abuse issues and instead focus on banning people who social network, make friends in the community, build a reader base and try to use their service only get slapped in the face for their efforts, but stuff like this get’s a thumb’s up from Digg?

“Seriously, this blog is about Affiliate Publishing, blogging and Search Engine Optimization, but what chance in hell does somebody such as myself who actually takes my time to present something worthwhile to my readers have” (snip) - actually you’re Googling pretty well under “Asstunnel”.
Not only are you googling pretty well for Asstunnel, but you make the first page for Cunnybungler, to boot. Good job on the compound-obscenity SEO! Hehehe. Digg is what it is, and I agree that Reddit is leaps and bounds better at doing what Digg used to do. In a way, I feel a bit terrible directing all this traffic towards Digg. It’s beyond ridiculous how popular NIN posts are on that site, and I really hope they’re not bugging people the way Ron Paul posts anywhere/everywhere bug the shit out of me.
I didn’t realize Digg had banned people/groups for this kind of thing in the past. That seems kind of dumb. Isn’t Digg designed so that people can submit their content and promote it to other Diggers? Trent himself links to Digg stories on nin.com… I’m not ragging on your month-old post, so much as kind of agreeing with you. Have a look at the most popular stories in Music on Digg in the last year, and count how many times you see a NIN/Reznor story.
Alright, it’s late, I’d better wrap up my egosurfing and hit the hay.
