I was browsing around some blogs that had dropped Entrecards on me this morning and I can across this interesting article about a search engine that pays you to search at Online Presence blog and I decided to check out this new search engine that claims to pay you for searching.
On first impression, the interface is very clean and presentable, score a couple of points for that. However, the real question I had was exactly how useful are the search resuts? Score another point for Sour because their search results are excellent. While Scour’s results are not generated from their own engine, they do culminate the results from Google, Yahoo and MSN into a cross platform search which is actually very refreshing. Unlike the recently released and ill-fated Cuil search, where search results were absolutely horrible, Scour’s results are what make it useful and worthy of using it for searches even if they didn’t give you points for searching that you can convert into a $25 Visa gift card.
Yes, you heard that right. Scour will give you a $25 Visa gift card if you earn 6500 points in the system. Points can be earned by searching, voting for websites in the search results as well as commenting on sites in the listings. Yes, they have voting and comments for search results which is an added feature sure to make Scour the most interesting aggregate search engine on the planet.
If you use search regularly, why not give Scour a try and who knows, maybe you’ll get one of those $25 Visa gift cards.
I have used Scour and must say that I find it useful. You should check it out without the lure of the $25 :-)

I like the fact it shows you te ranking in Google, Yahoo and MSN for each site. It could be very useful for SEO work.

If 6500 pts are 25 usd it means that 1 point is about 0.4 cent… mmm… I can’t say is it really good.

The interesting feature is that you get the results from the 3 big search engines.Other than that, It looks like they will make a lot of money for just handing out a 25$ credit card.
i need to make money using search engine
I did a search with Google for this exact search string:
foods that don’t cause gas
This yielded 4,810,000 results
Then I did the search using SCOUR with the exact same search string
This yielded 22 results
Then I did the search using PCH with the exact same search string
This yielded 86 results
Very interesting results all in all in my experiment…
I’ll stick with Google…
At the same time, I understand the system of affiliate residual income clearly.
I just joined today. This site will siphon a lot of traffic from the big three Search engines and I am sure the folks at Google, Yahoo and MSN will one day do something about it.
