Musings on PageRank, Backlinks and nofollow Attribute

I was searching for a way to remove the [tag]nofollow[/tag] tag from my blog’s comments so that positive, non-spam comments would be credited with a backlink for their efforts. Considering I moderate all the comments to my blogs, I don’t mind, and encourage readers to post comments with links back to their own sites or blogs as long as they are not doing it for spam purposes. I came across an interesting article on the More Earnings via Search Engine Optimization Blog…

WordPress Comments and rel=nofollow

It seems the author agrees with my philosophy of using spam filters and moderation while rewarding comments that are on topic and relevant to the discussion. If you wish to configure your Wordpress software to remove the nofollow attribute from comments, you should definitely check out the article mentioned above.

Once again, regarding research I was doing on [tag]Google Pagerank[/tag], I came across a very informative post on Matt Cutt’s Blog that is quite eye opening and explains a lot about the in’s and out’s of how actually works. This article is a must read if you haven’t already…

More info on PageRank

Matt addresses the discussion in a question and answer style, and I’d suggest anybody aspiring to learn more about [tag]SEO[/tag] (Search Engine Optimization) read this article and in general read Matt’s fantastic blog.

I thought both of these articles would be of interest to the readers of this blog, hope you like them !!!

Thanks for the link to the article. I also moderate comments and was looking to to do something with the non-follow.
